Scholarships

Thousands of scholarship dollars will be awarded to many graduating Spencer High School seniors every year because of generous contributions made to the Spencer Community School Foundation through bequests, memorials, and cash gifts in honor or memory of a loved one.

Each year the Spencer Community School Foundation proudly presents nearly $60,000 in scholarships to deserving Spencer High School seniors during the Scholarship Award Ceremony in March. This is all possible due to the generous benefactors as well as annual contributions from those choosing to make a difference for students, the school, and our community as a whole.

Spencer High School seniors receive a letter from the Foundation each fall with details on the application process.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded by donations, bequests, and annual giving programs. (No operating funds are received from the State of Iowa or the Spencer Community Schools budget.)

The goal of the Foundation is to partner with businesses and individuals to meet educational and vocational needs, enhance and enrich educational opportunities for students and teacher, and expand horizons for the entire community. Scholarships are a direct result of the heart-felt gifts presented to the Foundation as well.
